THIS WEEKS TIP FROM JONI:

Skips: Communicate to the sweeper (to relay to the thrower) why their shot was not made. Most of the time, they will already know.....unless the weight thrown was different than asked. Also, remember your players love to hear "good shot" or "good weight". Don't have to overdo this, but a little positive reinforcement can go along way.

Eventhough it is early October, many were ready to see the curling season start. Joan Miller was on hand to give instruction to several new members and many will be re-discovering their curling muscle for the next couple of days. Marion Washer and Julie Sizemore put together a wonderful spread of food for those who were practicing broom-stacking. Jennifer Geake held the General Membership meeting welcoming everyone to the start of a new season, introducing the new members and giving an overview of coming events.
